Going Live with BuildShip
On Friday we went live with BuildShip talking about our no-code competition and giving a live demo of how to build a reward based, volunteering application
At 9am on Friday, Co-founder, Andy, and head of growth and community, Dan went live with the CEO of BuildShip, Harini, to talk about the launch of our no-code competition!
During the go live Dan and Andy talked about the competition as well as giving a live demonstration of building a reward based, volunteering application with using BuildShip and OPENFORMAT.
Why volunteering?
Dan and I were chatting about a good example to use for our demo, the kind of problems we wanted to be involved in solving for. Some of the challenges with volunteering in our personal experiences are extensive time commitments (which a lot of people can’t commit to), application processes, proof of effort and execution on an ongoing basis.
What if we could build something whereby volunteers could pick up and execute shorter term strands of volunteer work without long term commitments?
What if they could be recognised for this and own that recognition themselves as proof of work?
What would this do to charities and causes being able to access a wider range of skills?
What about the pool of people that may be able to get involved, even if it was just for an hour as a one off?
What would the reward mechanism need to be to make this a ‘fair’ value exchange?
And so this was our starting point.
Watch as Dan and Andy build a volunteering POC live using BuildShip and OPENFORMAT:
The competition is for everyone from seasoned developers, no-code enthusiasts to complete app building novices to effortlessly build and prototype innovative dApps.
